Abstract

1411244 Automatic electric control of movement AGA AB 13 Sept 1972 42497/72 Heading G3N A weapon control servo suitable for use on a tank includes a first motor 16 driving a gun or gun turret of which the rotary speed is sensed by a gyro 6 providing signals to an integrator 3 and to a summator 4. The integrator also receives a signal from computer 17 representing the derivative of the lead angle between the gun and a sight 14, and a further signal representing desired sight speed from an operator's hand wheel 15 and produces an angular error signal which is fed to the motor 16 via the summator and to a second servo loop, including the sight 14 and its driving motor 12, via a summator 9 which also receives a signal representing the lead angle from the computer 17. The angular error signal falls to zero when the gun or the motor therefor has reached its desired position. The error signal is supplied to a device 18 which senses it dropping to zero and actuates a firing means. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 2 (not shown) the integration is performed by a gyro (20).
