Abstract

1410664 Advancing mine roof supports GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 2 Oct 1972 [2 Oct 1971 13 April 1972] 45342/72 Heading E1P In a mine roof support assembly comprising hydraulic props 112 mounted between a floor sill 110 and a roof cap 111, the assembly is protected from goaf collapse .by a shield 118 consisting of two relatively pivotable posts connected to two sets of pivotal levers, the axes of one set of levers 120 being vertically offset relative to the axes of the other set of levers 121. The assembly is also provided with an articulated cantilever extension, an advancing jack 47, a support 42 for the conveyor and guide means extending between two adjacent assemblies for alignment purposes, see Fig. 2 (not shown). The levers 120 are connected to a common shaft which is displaceable as by means of a screw-type device or a hydraulic actuator 122' to adjust the angle of inclination of the props 112. For a support having modified lever arrangement and means for tilting the conveyor in order to adjust the cutting path of the associated plough. Figs. 2, 3 and 4 (not shown), should be referred to. In a further modification, see Fig. 5 (not shown) the support is provided with a trough support arrangement for the conveyor which may move relative thereto or be clamped thereon.
