Abstract
1410617 Pyrolysis of hydrocarbons H W COOPER 14 Dec 1972 57833/72 Heading C5E A hydrocarbon feed is pyrolyzed by passage through a pyrolysis zone, at least two different pyrolysis products are separated from one another upon leaving the zone and at least a portion of each of two or more separated streams is recycled to different points in the pyrolysis zone. Examples describe the pyrolysis of nbutane in the presence of steam to give a mixture of propylene, ethylene, butylenes, butadiene, hydrogen, methane and ethane; in Example 2 ethane and propylene are recycled with additional steam, and in Example 3 hydrogen and propylene are recycled.
