Cooling-appliances.-The mouth of a rubber ice bag is closed by means of a clamp comprising two members, one of which is tubular and the other concave, hinged together at one end and adapted to be detachably connected at the other end, preferably by means of a pivoted catch. In the form shown, the clamp comprises a tubular member F pivoted at S to lugs K, K' on a semicylindrical member G and provided at the other end with a pivoted catch N engaging the member U. The end of the member G is preferably flared at O, Fig. 6, to engage securely the inclined head of the catch N when closed, and so as to form an inclined surface which, on bringing together the arms of the clamp, will bring the catch N into position to be readily closed. A spring may normally hold the catch at right-angles to the member F. The member G is preferably formed with lugs S, S<1> and with its edges folded over as at R, Fig. 3, to avoid damage to the ice bag.
