Extrusion machines.-The forcing screw shaft of a rubber-forcing machine is provided with a fluid thrust bearing comprising a chamber a to which oil or other liquid is forced by a pump k from a tank i. A gauge h indicates the pressure. The pump is operated either by hand or automatically. Stuffing-boxes s and cup-leathers t prevent the escape of the liquid along the shaft.
