Abstract

1409393 Winding webs &c H REISER [trading as DR REISER KG MASCHINENFABRIK] 4 May 1973 [19 June 1972] 21453/73 Heading B8R A web winding apparatus comprises a bracket 9 which supports a pair of spaced winding swords 7, 10 movable on pivoting the bracket successively to a winding station, the bracket being provided with guides 5, 13, which are associated with respective swords to guide the web to be bound to the sword. In operation a pair of feed rollers 2 feed the web past a metering roller 1 and past cutters 3, 4 and the guide 5 to the sword 7. The metering roller 1 initiates pivoted movement of the bracket 9 to a position III at which the winding continues until a predetermined amount is wound on the sword 7. The metering roller then trips the cutters 3, 4, whereby the trailing edge of the web is wound on to the sword 7 and the leading edge is guided by the guide 13. Subsequently the bracket is pivoted upwardly to locate sword 7 at position I for ejection by an ejector 12 of the roll bound on the sword 7 and to locate the sword 10 at position II for continuation of winding at that station.
