Abstract

1409196 Probes for colorimeters SHANDON SOUTHERN INSTRUMENTS Ltd 8 March 1974 [6 April 1973] 16673/73 Heading G2J A probe or sampling device for use in colorimeters comprises a cell 36 having an opening 37 for liquid, two fibre optic rods or bundles 32, 33 each having one end 34, 35 in the cell, and a device, e.g. a prism 41 or a U- or V-shaped fibre optic rod or bundle (24), see Figs.2, 9 (not shown) for redirecting light emitted by one face e.g. 34, to the other 35. One rod, e.g. 32, receives light from a suitable source, e.g. via a lens or colour filter and the other 33 emits the received light to a photo-electric device, see Fig.2 (not shown). The cell 36 is located in a tube 31 which has a slidable and rotatable external sleeve 38 for covering the opening 37.
