1409058 Stabilized alkali metal sulphites and bisulphites; sulphur dioxide removal MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 Sept 1972 [6 Sept 1971] 41157/72 Heading C1A An aqueous solution of sodium or potassium sulphite and/or bisulphite is stabilized against oxidation by the addition of one or more tris- (alkylphenyl) phosphates of general formula wherein R is an alkyl group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms. Such a solution may be used to remove sulphur dioxide from waste gases by absorption.
