Abstract

1406438 Automatic voltage control MARCONI CO Ltd 21 Nov 1972 [4 Jan 1972] 214/72 Heading G3R [Also in Division H3] In an oscillator comprising two series-connected integrators 1, 2, the feedback path 3 being completed over an inverter 4, the two outputs from the integrators 1, 2 are each converted to the square by application to both inputs of a corresponding multiplier 20, 21. They are added together and to an oppositely-poled D.C. control voltage from terminal 25 in adding circuit. The resultant D.C. voltage is inverted by inverter 27 and applied as second input to two multipliers 28, 29, the first inputs of which are derived from the outputs of integrators 1, 2 respectively. The outputs of multipliers 28, 29 are applied over resistors 30, 31 respectively to the inputs of integrators 1, 2. The arrangement is such that if the D.C. voltage generated by multipliers 20, 21 exceeds the control voltage applied to terminal 25, negative feedback is applied by multipliers 28, 29 to integrators 1, 2 respectively, while if the voltage is less than that applied to terminal 25, positive feedback is applied to the integrators 1, 2.
