Squares; protractors.-Relates to a combined set-square and protractor of the type having three arms a, b, c hinged together and relatively adjustable, the arms being locked in the adjusted position by means of projections or studs on one of the outer arms adapted to engage corresponding apertures or recesses in the other outer arm. The studs c' and recesses b<1> are arranged on the outer faces of the arms c, b, so as to enable the instrument to be closely folded, and the studs and corresponding recesses are brought into engagement by twisting the instrument so that the recessed arm moves over the faces of the studs. An extra recess b<2>, Fig. 8, at the end of the arm b may be placed over the first stud of the arm c to cause the central arm a to form an exterior right-angle with the arm c.
