Abstract

1405927 Nibbling DIEHL 28 Nov 1972 [24 Dec 1971] 54898/72 Heading B3W [Also in Division G3] In a process of adjusting the frequency and/or frequency symmetry of a flat fork oscillator 1 for a timepiece, the oscillator is placed in a carriage which is adjustable in directions a to set the relative depth of cut of two nibbling punches 23,24 acting simultaneously at the two outer edges of the oscillator, and which is then moved progressively in the direction b so that material can be removed as at areas 21, 22 until the frequency of the two times 8, 9 is reduced to the desired value. The punches slide in an upper guide plate (25, Fig. 3, not shown) and a lower die plate 26.
