Abstract

1405841 Tool holders ETABS RECOULES & FILS 10 Jan 1973 [20 Nov 1972] 1394/73 Heading B3C A tool holder including a stop for controlling the penetration of a tool into a workpiece comprises a body 10, a tool holding sleeve 11 mounted for rotation and limited axial movement with said body 10, a spring 13 for urging the sleeve 11 along the body 10, a tubular stop member 16 axially adjustable on said body, a vernier gauge 18 slidable but non-rotatable on said body, a spring 20 urging the gauge 18 into engagement with the stop member 16 by means of interengaging radial notches 17 to thereby prevent relative rotation therebetween, and a lock nut 22 threadably mounted on the body 10 for providing a tightening force on said gauge member 18 for locking the gauge member on to the stop member, and wherein an elastically deformable washer 23 is provided to prevent jamming of the lock nut on the gauge member.
