Abstract

1405572 Trueing regulating wheels KOENIG & BAUER AG 25 Feb 1974 [30 March 1973] 8470/74 Heading B3D A centreless grinding machine comprises a grinding wheel 4, a regulating wheel 6, a tool 14 for dressing the regulating wheel, and a guide bed 17 for the dressing tool, the regulating wheel and the guide bed being pivotable, independently of one another, about an axis which passes through the centres of the grinding wheel and regulating wheel and extends perpendicular to the axis of the regulating wheel. The machine has a frame 1 which supports the grinding wheel 4 and a pivot pin 3 for a swivel slide 2. An intermediate slide 5 carries a support 8 for a workpiece 7 and a bracket 12. A shaft 11 is pivotally mounted in bracket 12 and fixed to a support 9 carrying the shaft 6.1 of the regulating wheel 6 and drive means 10 for the regulating wheel. The guide bed 17 is also pivotally mounted on shaft 11 and has a guide 17.1 for a lower part 16.2 of a slide 16 having an upper part 16.1 which is adjustable by a hand wheel 16.3 and has an arm 15 carrying the dressing tool 15, the arm being adjustable so that the tool lies in a plane A containing the axes of the shaft 11, regulating wheel 6 and grinding wheel 4. The support 9 is formed with projections 9.1, 9.2 receiving locating bolts 18, 19 which pass respectively through a slot 20 in a lug 17.2 of the guide bed and a slot 21 in a lug 12.2 of the bracket, nuts 18.1, 19.1 being provided for locking the lugs in adjusted position. The guide bed can be adjusted relative to the bracket so that the regulating wheel is cylindrically or hyperbolically dressed and the angle of tilt of the regulating wheel can be adjusted about the axis of the shaft 11 without altering the position of the guide bed relative to the regulating wheel.
