Abstract
1405418 Meter calibration SOLARTRON ELECTRONIC GROUP Ltd 15 Nov 1972 [23 Nov 1971] 54278/71 Heading G1U [Also in Division G4] An instrument 10 may be calibrated by reference to a digital voltmeter 50 of known accuracy using a reader 20 which converts a digit (e.g. 7 bar) display into a digital signal 46 (see Division G4). A signal 126 from a source 118 is selected by a control 116 and fed to 10 and 50, the readings 46, 52 from 20, 50 being fed to counter 56, 58. Gates 68, 96 and flip-flop 72 together cause a counter 106 to count clock pulses 100 from the instant that the count in one counter equals its input 46 or 52 till the instant that the count in the other counter equals its input 52 or 46, gates 76, 84 and flip-flops 80, 88 providing signals 111, 112 indicating that the count in 106 is negative or positive. The resulting "error count" may then be printed (when different colours may be used to indicate different error ranges) or displayed.
