Abstract
1404582 Ignition systems LUCAS ELECTRICAL CO Ltd 21 Aug 1972 [18 Sept 1971] 43620/71 Heading F1B An ignition system comprises means operable when the switching device in the primary circuit 16 of the ignition transformer 14 is switched on, to increase the voltage across the series circuit of the primary winding and switching device for a predetermined period of time so as to increase the rate at which current flow in the primary winding builds up. As shown the conduction of the switching device results in turning on a further switching device 24 to supply current to the primary winding 23 of a step up transformer 22 the secondary winding 21 of the step up transformer boosting the voltage across the primary winding of the ignition transformer and the first mentioned switching device conduction of the first switching device energizes a pulse generator 26 which turns on the further switching device 24.
