Abstract
1404314 Silo bottom unloader AUSTIN HOY & CO Ltd 22 Aug 1972 [13 Sept 1971] 42668/71 Heading B8E A silo bottom unloader has a sweep arm 5, with a cutter chain, pivoted at or near the periphery of the silo, as in British patent 1,092,262, to sweep at least the greater part of the floor 4 and is provided additionally with a conveyer 3 of the chain and flight type or an auger as shown in a channel 6 to discharge the material. The conveyer 3 may extend the whole length of the arm or only part thereof when discharge from the centre is required or its effective length may be adjustable by a shutter slidable over the top of the channel 6. The channel 6 may be chamfered outwards at the top. The floor 4 may be stepped at the edge where it contacts the side wall 1 and the step may have a downwardly sloping top face.
