1403713 Shopping trolley J D CLEGG 21 Aug 1972 [21 May 1971 22 Jan 1972] 16461/71 and 3167/72 Heading A4G [Also in in Division B7] A flexible bag 15 detachably mountable in a collapsible shopping trolley frame is provided internally with reinforcing frames or panels which are moveable between a position in which they maintain the bag erect and a position in which they allow collapse of the bag. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, reinforcement is provided by panels 23, 24, 25 and 26 which respectively lie against the rear, bottom and side walls of the bag. The panels are formed integrally from a single sheet of card or fibre-board and are hinged about fold lines 28. To collapse the bag the bottom panel is folded up against the rear panel and then the side panels are folded inwardly. Rivets 27 connecting the side panels to the bag sides cause partial collapse of the bag. The rear panel may be replaced by a frame (42), Fig. 4 (not shown) to which the side and bottom panels are hinged by wire loops (44). In a further embodiment, Fig. 5, the rear panel may be omitted and the bottom panel 47 made integrally with a side panel 46. The bottom panel of this arrangement may be replaced by a frame hinged by wire loops to the side panel, Fig. 3 (not shown). The trolley handle frame 12 may be telescopically or foldably collapsible, and the ground support legs 14 may be pivoted, to allow collapse, to the frame.
