1403353 Structural Assemblies F WAKELING 4 Aug 1972 [5 May 1971] 13379/71 Heading A4H [Also in Divisions A6 and F2] A structure is formed from plates 2, U-form members 8 and strips 4 inter-connected together, members 8 and strips 4 having interlocking edge slots 20 and projections 16 that, after said interlocking, define a cruciform pattern and are engaged in cruciform slots 14 in plate 2. Edge slots 12 of plate 2 embrace the central limbs 22 of the U-form members 8. The U-form members may be replaced by I-form members (24), Fig. 3 (not shown). In another form Figs. 4-8 (not shown), the cruciform slots each include an edge slot 12, and the U-form members (8') have longitudinal slots (26, 28) that interlock when the members are arranged in relatively inverted pairs. Alternate pairs of members (8) may be replaced by vertical panels (4"), Fig. 7 (not shown). The plate may include further slots forming a grid pattern Fig. 9 (not shown). In a further form Figs. 11, 12 (not shown), the U-form members are replaced by rectangular members (76) provided with slotted projections (78) and cut-outs. The U-form members may be formed from three strips (82, 84) Fig. 15 (not shown) having face recesses (86) to form a halved joint.
