Discharging-devices for conveyers; parallel chains with cross-connexions.-In a machine for coating objects with chocolate, the centres are placed in compartments on a conveyer which carries them through a bath of molten chocolate, the centres being free to move in their compartments to give the chocolate free access to the whole surface. As shown, the conveyer c comprises parallel wires connected by transverse plates f, carried 'by gear chains driven by sprockets. At the delivery end of the conveyer the wires and transverse plates sink into grooves of a roller n and the coated centres are delivered to fluted rollers l and a conveyer m. Longitudinal wires may connect adjacent plates f to prevent coated centres from moving together and adhering. According to the Provisional Specification, the conveyer may comprise parallel flexible metal bands, the inner one having transverse rows of fingers and the outer one corresponding holes.
