SPLINT CATCHER.
Application filed February 16, 1925, Serial No. 9,720, and in Norway February 22, 1924.
invention comprises a continuously operated conveyor belt, having narrow transverse slots, which are sufiiciently wide to let the pulp through, but are too narrow for. the
splints.
The pulp is conducted to the said conveyor near one end thereof, and during the passage the pulp is exposed to the action of a spray, whereby it passes through the slots of the conveyor into a trough below the same.
At the end of the conveyor the splints are removed from the same and collected separately.

A suitable form of conveyor is illustrated on Fig. 2.
On this figure the conveyor comprises two chains 6 which are interconnected by means 40 of rods 9 With circular cross section. These transverse rods 9 are so dimensioned and arranged with relation to each'other that the space between them is large enough for the pulp to be passed through, but too nar- Y row for the splints.
The rods may be made integral with trunnions 8, forming the transverse links of the Gall-chain, and in such cases it may be desirable to provide the rods with sleeves 7 of suitable material- We claim': 5
A splint catcher-for purifying wood pulp and the like, comprising, an endless conveyor belt formed by a plurality of equidistant parallel rods,- li nks interconnecting the rods at both ends, and sleeves'on the rods and between the interconnecting links.
