Abstract

1402574 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems NIPKIHMASH 10 Oct 1972 [13 Oct 1971] 46719/72 Heading G3P [Also in Division F2] A pneumatic controller has a valve-member 6 co-operable with head 8 of a rod-and-tube thermostat 10-12 to connect outlet connection 1 alternately to high pressure connection 3 and low pressure connection 5, the valve-member being biased by diaphragm 7 to disconnect connections 1, 3. The upper section 10 of the rod is of the same material as tube 11, but the lower section 12 is of material such as Invar (RTM) having a lesser coefficient of thermal expansion, so that the tube reacts immediately to changing temperature to establish communication between connection 1 and connection 3 or 5 and the rod reacts subsequently to reduce the extent of the communication by an amount dependent on the relative lengths of tube 11 and section 10. Rotation of cap 2 adjusts the set point due to the threaded connection with base 9.
