Abstract

1459259 Pressure relieving devices DUCELLIER ET CIE 31 May 1974 [7 June 1973] 24213/74 Heading F1D [Also in Division F4] A temperature sensitive compensating device for use in a fluid circuit comprises two deformable metal bellows 2, 3 disposed concentrically between two rigid flanges 4, 5, the flange 5 being connected in use to a part of the circuit 6 and the flange 4 being movable. The inner chamber 8 formed by the bellows 3 contains a fluid 8a identical in nature with that in the circuit and is in communication with the circuit via a port 9, whereas the annular chamber 7 between the bellows is sealed and contains another temperature sensitive fluid, e.g. glycol. The volumes of the chambers are a function of the coefficients of expansion of the fluids so that as the temperature changes fluid passes through the port 9 to maintain a substantially constant pressure in the circuit. The device is intended for use with a circuit for regulating the orientation of the headlamps of a vehicle.
