Abstract
1402141 Phase senstive detector DAWNAY FAULKNER ASSOCIATES Ltd 26 July 1973 [22 May 1972] 23936/72 Heading H3A A phase sensitive detector comprises a first signal path including an FET Q1 for coupling an input terminal 1 to an output terminal 4, a second alternative signal path including a further FET Q2 for coupling the terminal 1 to earth, an arrangement 7 for supplying reference voltages Vr1, Vr2 in antiphase to switch Q1, Q2 alternately so that at any instant one of the signal paths is open. The detector may include a third and a fourth signal paths from terminal 2 including FET's Q3, Q4 also switched by the same reference voltages VR1, VR2. The switching voltages may have square waveforms or alternatively different rectangular references voltages may be applied to the FET's Q1, Q3 connected to each terminal 1, 2 so that quiescent periods exist during which neither of the signal paths to the terminal 4 is open. The elements 3, 7 are phase inverters. The terminal 4 may be connected to an amplifier 5 with feedback elements C3, R3.
