Abstract
1402095 Analyzing a fluid NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 21 Sept 1972 [4 Oct 1971] 46105/71 Heading G1A In a device for analyzing a fluid, the fluid is passed through a tube 8 having an orifice 3 thereby forming a vertical jet (horizontal jet, Fig. 2, not shown), the fluid being investigated by an x-ray source 5 and detector 4 (measuring fluorescence) adjacent the orifice. To prevent the source/ detector being splashed by the jet if the fluidpressure is too low a pressure sensor 8 is incorporated in the tube and it causes a shutter to be moved into the position shown when the pressure is too low.
