Abstract
1401798 Fluid-pressure servomotor systems ADVANCED PRODUCTS PTY Ltd 19 July 1972 [28 July 1971] 33842/72 Heading G3P [Also in Division F2] In a hydrostatic transmission control circuit wherein pump and motor displacement adjusting follow-up servomotors 10 are each controlled by a pilot valve 11 which is normally positioned by a manual control 23 acting through a further followup servomotor 18 on the pilot valve 11, over-ride means automatically adjust the pump and/or motor displacement when the pressure in the working circuit or the driving torque exceed predetermined values and the over-ride means is rendered inoperative during over-run of the motor. As shown the manual control 23 positions a pilot valve 24 of the follow-up servomotor 18. Pressure liquid supplied by a make-up pump 6 to a chamber 19A moves the servo-piston 18 against the bias of spring 21 to follow the movement of the pilot valve 24. If the make-up pump 6 fails, the spring 21 moves the servo-piston 18 left to reduce pump or increase motor displacement. Adjustably loaded normally closed over-ride valves 25, 26 are respectively loaded by working circuit high pressure 13 and a driving torque responsive pressure 17 which may be the hydrostatic pressure balancing the journal loading at the pump. When the pressure 13 or 17 exceeds a predetermined value the valve 25 or 26 is opened to vent the chamber 19A and thus reduce pump or increase motor displacement. The working circuit return line pressure 14 is supplied to an adjustably loaded normally open valve 27 which is closed by the increased pressure in the line 14 during motor over-run to block a vent duct 15 and thus render the over-ride valves 25, 26 of ineffective. Additional over-ride valve responsive to temperature or engine speed may be provided. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the overrun pressure (14) acts on a piston (28) connected directly to the servo-piston (18) to prevent leftward movement of the latter on opening of the valves (25, 26) and thus render the over-ride valves (25, 26) ineffective.
