Abstract

1401753 Iron-base alloys TOYOTA CHUE KENKYUSHO KK 25 Feb 1974 [2 March 1973] 8382/74 Headings C7A and C7D A self-lubricating wear-resistant alloy consists by weight, of:- the balance being iron. The alloys are preferably prepared by melting electrolytic iron and ironcarbon alloy, adding ferromolybdenum and subsequently FeS or FeSe, heating to completely melt the additives, deoxidizing with aluminium and casting. It is stated that the resulting alloys contain molybdenum sulphide or selenide as lubricant and molybdenum carbide to provide wear resistance.
