Abstract
1400505 Treatment of oxidic nickel ores AVESTA JERNVERKS AB 17 July 1972 [16 July 1971] 33404/72 Heading C7D A metal concentrate of iron and nickel is obtained from nickel ore by mixing finely divided limonitic and/or silicate nickel ore with a carbonaceous reducing agent and fluxing agent, forming the mixture into pellets and coating the pellets with an outer layer of silicate type nickel or which may contatin a carbonaceous reducing agent and heat treating the pellets and cooling them followed by a grinding and magnetic separation stage which separates the product into a strongly magnetic faction, weakly magnetic faction and waste. Liquid, solid or gaseous reducing agents may be used.
