Abstract

1400327 Seat upholstery DAIMLER-BENZ AG 10 April 1973 [13 April 1972] 17189/73 Heading A4M A seat with a cushion 13 overlying a spring base includes a cover with tucks 7 and/or seams 9 secured to the cushion by means of a fabric tube 10 secured along a seam 9 and located in a depression 12 in the cushion, the tube 10 housing a rod 11 engaged by fasteners to secure the cover to the cushion. As shown the rod 11 includes spaced U-shaped portions 14 extending from slots in the tube 10 and through holes 15 in the cushion, the rod being secured by plastics clips 16 pushed through the U-portions 14. In another embodiment, Fig.6 (not shown) the U-portions are replaced by textile loops (17) engaged over a straight rod 11. In a further embodiment, Figs.7 and 8 (not shown), a straight rod 11 is secured by staples (19) passed over the rod 11 and into the cushion.
