Abstract

139,926. Kyte, W. C., and Copeland, E. G. April 16, 1919. Hammocks.-A hammock is slung from a beam 18 slidably mounted in clamping-members 5, 6 carried on legs 1 so that the tension on the hammock can be adjusted. Rigidity is secured by means of struts 32 pivoted to the legs 1 and bolted at the other end to the beam 18, which has a series of holes 27 to receive the bolt. A series of notches 36, spaced similarly to the holes 27, engage with the clamping-members 5, 6 to secure the beam at any desired position. The beam may be formed in two parts, secured together by a metal cap 20 and bolts 21, 23, 24, to facilitate packing in small space.
