Abstract

1397826 Washing the body FORE NADE FABRIKSVERKEN 31 Oct 1972 [4 Nov 1971] 50223/72 Heading A5R [Also in Division F2] Apparatus for washing the body comprises a nozzle connected to sources of vacuum and washing medium under pressure by a multichannel hose (10) haying identical end connections each comprising a tubular handle 41 which surrounds the hose, a bayonet coupling 42 or screw coupling (not shown) for connection to the nozzle or the sources and, rotatably mounted within the handle 41, an axially undisplaceable disc 21 having tubular studs 23, 24, 25, 26 projecting from both sides for communicating with channels in the hose and the nozzle or sources, respectively. The hose comprises a main conduit (11) connected with the vacuum source and two conduits (13) for washing medium, e.g. washing liquid and pressurised air, and is secured about the studs 23, 24 by a guiding element 30 which supports a hinged abutment 36 disposed in the handle. The abutment 36 is normally disposed adjacent a flexible tongue 49 which is cut out from the handle 41 and may be pressed against the abutment to squeeze and close the washing medium conduits 13. The nozzle Figures 7 to 9 (not shown) is connected to the screw or bayonet coupling 42 so that it is connected to washing medium and vacuum by the tubular studs 25, 26. In one form of nozzle, washing medium is supplied to outlets (55b) Figure 7 (not shown) in a hollow plate (55) via a porous plug (57) and a channel (56), the suction conduit (53) of the nozzle being connected to a slit around the plate (55). In another form, a valve (69) Figure 9 (not shown) controls the supply of washing medium to a spray device on the surface of the nozzle and a filter bag (74) is located in the suction conduit. A skirt (67) surrounds the part of the nozzle which is applied to the body. During removal or fitting of the nozzle to the handle 41 the abutment 36 engages the handle wall to close the washing medium conduits and rotation of the nozzle, disc 21 and guiding element 30 within the handle as the screw or bayonet fitting is secured, locates the abutment 36 against the tongue 49.
