Abstract

1397343 Electro-photographic apparatus HOECHST AG 5 Feb 1973 [7 Feb 1972] 5605/73 Heading G2H In an electro-photographic apparatus employing a photo-conductive material 19 disposed on a conductive layer 18 supported on a movable web 17 the conductive layer is connected to a source of fixed potential by a stationary contact having a carbon surface. As shown a layer 24 of graphite tissue clamped between metal blocks 22, 23, 28 and 29 is supported by a foam pad 31. In an alternative form, Fig.3, the graphite layer 36 and foam pad 35 are supported in a screw threaded holder 32. A screw insert 33 forces the graphite layer to project beyond the end 34 of the holder. The graphite may be replaced with carbon filament felt.
