Abstract

1397227 Cake removal in centrifugal spinners ASAHI KASEI KOGYO KK 19 Nov 1973 [18 Nov 1972] 53549/73 Heading DID In a centrifugal spinning machine cakes 8 are removed from the spinning pot by a gripper 4 which is suspended on two laterally spaced elongate flexible members 1 and 2 driven independently by motors 14 and 24. The sequence of operation of motors 14 and 24 is controlled by a geared cam device, the cams cooperating with switching photocells. The gripper 4 is movable to transfer a cake from pot 5 to a cake table 6, which may comprise a conveyor to remove the cakes from the machine. The gripper 4 is a gripping pad or jaw device or an inflatable body. The gripper also carries jaws 133, Fig 12, to engage a pot lid, when activated by pneumatic cylinder 40, and lift the same clear of the pot. The lid 141 has a centrifugal spring clip 141a which engages the pot during rotation. Suitable pneumatic operating circuits are described and illustrated.
