Cl. 57--34 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a dofilng arrangement which guides the yarns through suction funnel assemblies as usual in centrifugal collecting pots, keep the yarns through it by sucking at the eevated position of funnel assemblies 'while guiding wound yarn packages as referred to cakes, and also collects the waste yarn produced at these operations. The object of this invention is to replace the manual operations of dofiing by a mechanical device and to improve labor efficiency.
It is as well known that the guided yarn is interrupted between second roller and funnel assembly when a certain amount of yarn has been wound up in a collecting pot and a cake is dotted from the collecting pot, thereafter manual yarn guiding operations are carried out. The manual operations require much skill and need long training period. Moreover, as the manual operations are required for each spindle, a fairly long time is needed to finish for all spindle.
This invention relates to a dofling arrangement for contrifugal spinning which comprises yarns cutting devices for interrupting the yarns between the funnel assemblies and the collecting pots, suction funnel assemblies for keeping the yarn through them by sucking, a device for elevating and lowering said suction funnel assemblies, a yarn receiver for accepting the waste yarns guided through the suction funnel assemblies located at their elevated position, and a device for collecting and Winding up the waste yarns at one end of the centrifugal spinning machine.
Now the device and operations according to the invention will be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a front view showing the centrifugal spinning machine;
FIG. 2 is a side view illustrating a wind up means provided at one end of the centrifugal spinning machine;
FIG. 3 is a sectional side view of the centrifugal spinning machine;
FIG. 4 is a side view showing device for elevating and lowering the funnel;
FIG. 5 is a front view of the device shown in FIG. 4, and
FIG. 6 is a sectional view of the suction funnel assembly.
During the yarn spinning operations, the suction funnel assemblies 3 remain in the state as shown at (a) of FIG. 3 and FIG. 4. The yarns regenerated by passing through the coagulating bath 1 are introduced into rotating pots 4 through second rollers 2 and the suction funnel assemblies 3 to be finished as cakes. When dofling cakes, supply valves on the fluid supply pipe is opened to flow the fluid in the gaps in the funnel stems and the funnel assemblies are elevated automatically and simultaneously while the suction is applied. As the funnel assemblies are elevated, the yarns are brought in contact with the edges having sawteeth provided on the pot covers and are cut by the centrifugal force of the pots between the pot and funnel assembly. After the yarns have been cut, the suction assemblies continue to move upward until they reach the position shown at (b) of FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 where they discharge the waste yarns to the yarn receiver 6 provided between the collecting pots 4 and funnel rail 5. Then a rope 8 which has a plurality of hooks 7 projecting for:
wardly travels horizontally along the spinning frame to collect the waste yarns discharged on the yarn receiver arranged below the funnel assemblies. As the rope 8 runs, the waste yarns are collected laterally and are wound up on a wind up roller 9 provided at the end of the spinning machine. The rope 8 is driven by guide pulleys 10 and 11.
After the operations described above have been completed, the collecting pots 4 are stopped and the cakes are doffed. The pots are returned to the initial position to be rotated. The valves for feeding the fluid to the suction funnel stems are again opened and the suction funnel assemblies are lowered simultaneously while the yarns are being attracted thereto. The yarns are cut by the edges of hook guides 17 below the suction funnel assemblies and the funnel assemblies keeping the yarns are lowered in the collecting pots to introduce the yarns thereinto. The fluid supply to the suction funnel assemblies is stopped after it is confirmed that the yarns have been wound up on the inner surface of the collecting pots 4. With the completion of the recovery of the waste yarns remaining after the cutting of the yarns, the rotation of the waste yarn wind up roller 9 is stopped. This is: a cycle of the dofling arrangement for spinning.
Now the details of the device according to the invention will be explained.
The funnel assembly shown in FIG. 6 consists of funnel 30 and funnel stem 31. The funnel stem 31 contiguous to the funnel 30 is a double pipe consisting of an inner pipe 32 and an outer pipe 33 between which a gap 34 is provided for passing the fluid. The fluid inlet hole 41 is provided above the funnel stem and the lower nozzle 35 is arranged below the funnel stem. The fluid introduced into the fluid inlet hole 41 passes through the gap 34 and is injected from the holes 36 of the lower nozzle 35. As the holes 36 of the lower nozzle 35 are narrower than the gap 34, the velocity of fluid increases, the pressure drops in the sucking portion 40 of inner pipe and consequently the suction is given the yarn. An annular groove 38 having an annular and U shaped packing 37 is provided along the joint between the funnel and funnel stem. A plurality of holes 39 is arranged above the annular groove 38 for introducing the coagulating solution from the upper part of the funnel 30. The coagulating solution prevents the Glaubers salt crystal deposition in the gap and the hole of nozzle. Backward flow of fluid is prevented by the packing in the annular groove.
The yarn receiver 6 for accepting waste yarn may be made of a net or a perforated plate which permits the passing of air. The yarn receiver 6 is provided right under the elevated position of funnel assemblies and apart from the frame of spinning machine. As there is space under the receiver, the flow of the injected air is not disturbed, that the discharged yarn is accumulated in a small area on the receiver and is easily captured by the hooks.
The device for elevating and lowering the funnel assemblies is shown in FIGS. 4 and 5. At the central part of the funnel rails 5 is provided a power cylinder or electric motor 13 which rotates a pair of shafts 14. When the shafts 14 are rotated, the funnel assemblies are simultaneously elevated with the movement of lower funnel arms settled to the shafts 14.
The waste yarn wind up device is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The guide pulleys 10 and 11 are provided at one end of the spinning machine and guide the rope 8 having the hooks upwardly from the horizontal position. The wind up roller 9 having a smaller diameter than that of the guide pulley 10 is arranged coaxially with the guide pulley 10. The waste yarn collected by the hooks is traversed by the traverse guide 12 and Wound up on the Wind up roller 9. The traverse guide 12 is made to move reciprocally between the plane of the lower end of the wind up roller and the running plane of the rope.
What is claimed is:
1. In centrifugal spinning system, an improvement comprising suction funnel assemblies in the form of a double pipe constituting a funnel stern contiguous to the funnel of the funnel assembly and having a construction to attract the yarn by sucking as it passes through the inner pipe of the double pipe while the fluid is flown in the gap between the outer and inner pipes of the double pipe, and a device for moving simultaneously said suction funnel assemblies from the spinning position to the elevated position and vice versa, a yarn receiver to accept the waste yarns discharged from the suction funnel assemblies in the elevated position, a device for collecting and Winding up the waste yarn at one end of the yarn spinning machine, devices for cutting the yarns when the suction funnel assemblies are moved from the spinning position to the elevated position, and devices for cutting the waste yarns from the yarns to be newly wound up in the centrifugal collecting pots when the suction funnel assemblies are returned from the elevated position to the spinning position.

The centrifugal spinning system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said suction funnel assembly is constituted by a double pipe having outer and inner pipes between which a gap is provided to pass the fluid and which forms a funnel stern contiguous to the funnel, and an annular groove with an annular and U shaped packing is provided at the contacting surface of the funnel and the funnel stem, and said annular groove is connected to the gap in the funnel stem and is also connected to the funnel by means of a plurality of liquid introducing holes to introduce a portion of the coagulating solution to the gap in the funnel stem to prevent the crystal deposition.

The centrifugal spinning system as claimed in claim 1, wherein a power cylinder or electric motor is provided at the central part of the funnel rails on both sides, and said power cylinder or electric motor rotates a pair of shafts on both sides to elevate or lower the funnel assembly by the funnel arms settled to said shafts simultaneously.
4. The centrifugal spinning system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the yarn receiver for accepting the waste yarn is formed by a net or a perforated plate and is located right under the elevated position of funnel assemblies and apart from the frame of yarn spinning machine.

The centrifugal spinning system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the waste yarn on each spindle on the yarn spinning machine is drawn and collected by running a rope having a plurality of hooks horizontally on the yarn spinning frame, and said collected waste yarn is traversed and wound up by the traverse guide on the wind up roller provided at the end of the yarn spinning machine, a device for winding up the waste yarn characterized in that a plurality of hooks projecting forwardly are provided horizontally on said rope, and a guide pulley having a diameter larger than that of said wind up roller is arranged on the shaft of said wind up roller backwardly of said wind up roller to guide said rope upwardly from the horizontally position, and said traverse guide is moved reciprocally between the plane of the lower end of the wind up roller and the running plane of the rope.
