Abstract

1397206 Dung remover J BOHSE 1 Aug 1973 [18 Aug 1972] 36570/73 Heading A1M A dung alley 1 and a liquid manure channel 9 connected by a slot 10 are cleared of manure by a folding pusher 3 and auger 13, 14 respectively. The rotation of the auger 13, 14 is transmitted into longitudinal motion of pusher 3 by wheels 20 engaging on the turns 13 of the auger. When pusher 3 moves in the direction b, the two pusher arms 6 extend over the width of the dung alley 1, thus clearing the dung. The rotation of the auger 13, 14 is reversed when pusher 3 reaches the end of its traverse thus returning the pusher 3 with its arms folded at an acute angle, to prevent entrainment of dung. A semi-circular guide 18, attached to the pusher 3 slides over the internal surface of tube 11 in channel 9, so enhancing free movement of pusher 3. A second embodiment has the liquid manure channel 9, and hence the auger 13, 14 positioned at the side of the dung alley, the sliding head 4 therefore having only one pusher arm 6. A modification has several folding pushers 3 spaced along the auger 13, 14.
