Abstract

1397196 Roadway foundations MONO CONCRETE LTD 8 March 1973 [10 March 1972] 11347/73 Heading E1G An underground retaining wall for the compacted sub-grade 3 of a concrete or asphalt road 4 and/or footpath is formed by a row of porous concrete foundation blocks I of L or inverted T section, provided with aligned land drain passages 7. The top surface of the blocks may be surmounted by a kerb 6, or may form the base of a gutter. Several blocks may be preassembled end-to-end and provided with handles 8. In Fig 1 (not shown) two rows of foundation blocks meeting at a corner are spaced by ouboid blocks 1'.
