Abstract
1396379 Cooling liquids MK REFRIGERATION Ltd 6 Oct 1972 46353/72 Addition to 1346590 Heading F4H In a liquid refrigerating and dispensing apparatus, e.g. for beverages, a heat exchange liquid cooled by an evaporator coil 16 in a container 11 passes through apertures 26 in a lower portion 25 of a compartment 19 and under the action of an axial flow impeller 29, the motor of which is actuated and terminated by a sensor (not shown) responsive to the temperature of the product liquid, and comes into heat exchange contact with a coil 22 through which coil the product liquid flows. The sensor is adapted to operate within a small temperature differential to maintain the impeller's operation whereby the level of the heat exchange liquid fluctuates about a mean leevl to maintain the temperature of the liquid product at substantially a predetermined value. A weir 24 is formed by an aperture 23 in the compartment to enable overflow of the heat exchange fluid back into the container 11. A sensor may be provided which when touched by ice growing on the evaporator coil switches off the refrigerating means and switches it on again at a set temperature above freezing.
