Abstract

1399829 Cooling liquids FOODEX SYSTEMS Ltd 26 Sept 1972 [12 Oct 1971] 47518/71 Heading F4H In a refrigerated beverage dispensing device juice concentrate in an upper container 28, Fig. 1, and water in a lower container 26 are separately cooled to different temperatures by evaporator coils 98, 88 which are in a single closed refrigerant circuit comprising a compressor 20, Fig. 3, condenser 22 having an associated fan 82, capillary tube 86 and a further capillary tube 94 between the coils which maintains a differential pressure drop between the coils. A thermostat 100 sensing the temperature of the lower container controlling a bellows switch 104 switches the condenser fan on or off when a predetermined upper or lower temperature is reached and further thermostat 106 sensing the temperature of the upper container controlling a bellows switch 112 deactivates or actuates the compresser and condenser fan when a predetermined lower or upper temperature is reached. The temperature range of the water is preferably 34‹ to 40‹ F. and the temperature of the juice is 26‹ to 28‹ F. The water is supplied under pressure though a valve 34 to the container 26, and is dispensed via a mixing valve 40 with or without the juice through a spout 41 under the control of a pressure switch 42 actuated when a cup is pressed against it.
