Abstract

1345616 Refrigerating; defrosting EUROPAISCHE H O CANFIELD CO GmbH 19 April 1971 [6 March 1970] 23374/71 Heading F4H [Also in Division H1] In a refrigerator of the kind in which automatic defrosting is performed by a heater operated each time the pump motor is switched off, the main thermally operated motor switch 7, which is heated by a parallel resistor 1, is connected in series with a further temperature responsive switch placed to sense the temperature of the evaporator and to prevent operation of the motor switch unless or until the evaporator temperature rises above 5‹ C. The further switch includes a magnetic bimetal 3 which co-operates with a permanent magnet 6 to provide snap action.
