Abstract

1396296 Concrete formwork H W HIXON 12 June 1972 [5 April 1971 18 May 1971] 8671/71 and 15412/71 Heading E1S [Also in Division F2] Formwork panels are connected together edge-to-edge, either coplanar or at right angles, by pairs of attachment shoes 2, 3 which are secured to their rear surfaces adjacent the edges and which each have a bevelled edge 5 and a groove 6 facing away from the edge, and clamps 8 for connecting each pair of shoes, which clamps are of two different forms respectively for bridging the shoes when coplanar or when at right angles, each clamp having a pair of spaced engaging portions 7 locatable in the grooves 6 such that sliding of the clamp along the grooves draws the shoes and thereby the panel edges together. The edges 5 are bevelled at 45‹, and the grooves 6 are inclined. Transverse recesses 11 formed in the shoes and clamp are aligned in the coplanar situation and a cotter bar 12 is inserted therethrough to lock the assembly. The clamp 8 carries a bracket 9 projecting away from the panels to support a waling against the rear surfaces thereof.
