Abstract

1396070 Electric cables KABELUND LACKDRAIITFABRIKEN GmbH 26 Oct 1973 [27 Oct 1972] 50034/73 Heading H1A An oil-filled cable in which the conductor 3 has a liquid-tight pipe 1 running along inside it to carry a coolant 2, e.g. water; the pipe being hermetically sealed from ducts 6, 7 and 8 provided for oil supply to the insulation. In one embodiment the liquid-tight pipe 1 is helically corrugated and its corrugations form an oil feed duet 6 against the inside surface of the conductor 3. Segments of the conductor may be replaced by further oil ducts or ducts 8. A corrugated metal sheath 5 forms outer oil ducts 7 against the outer surface of the paper insulation 4. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), the liquid-tight pipe (11) is smooth and oil feed ducts (16) are impressed into the inner surface of the metal sheath which surrounds the insulation.
