Abstract

139,400. Forshaw, J. July 17, 1919. Stoppering.-A device to be worn on the hand for use in tightening up bottle stoppers consists of a rubber band 1 having a thumb-hole 2 and adjustable fastening-means whereby the band may be adjusted to fit round hands of different sizes. Studs 4 may be provided at one end of the band to engage one or other of a series of perforations 3 at the other end; or the two ends of the band may be connected by lacing. The projecting tongue 2a at the hole 2 protects the root of the thumb of the wearer. The device mav be made from the old inner tubes of motor-car tyres.
