Abstract

1393852 Valves WILMOT BREEDEN (TRUFLO) Ltd 5 Feb 1974 [13 Feb 1973] 7050/73 Heading F2V A rotary ball valve comprising a valve member 11, operating shaft 23 and valve body 10 is characterized in that spring-loaded plungers provide an electrical contact between the member 11, shaft 23 and body 10 at locations 27 and 28. The upper plunger 27 is located in a metal flange packing ring 30 electrically connected to a fixed part of the valve structure. The lower plunger 28 (Fig. 3, not shown) is located in a blind bore of the operating shaft to bear against the top of a valve trunnion (13). The invention may be applied to a ball valve of the type described in Specification 1,272,858.
