Abstract

1393790 Prefabricated buildings BUILDING BLOCK MODULES INC 24 Oct 1972 48971/72 Heading E1A In a prefabricated building, such as a multistory building, Fig 1, erected from room units 4 which are of rectangular, tubular construction to define a pair of opposite end walls giving unrestricted access thereto adjacent units are disposed at right angles to one another whereby the open end of one unit abuts a side wall of the adjacent unit, external openings in the resulting building being filled in by cladding panels 11, 12. The building is mounted on a foundation 41, Fig 8, having a securing plate 27 which is vertically adjusted on the foundation by means 43, 44, 47 and is provided with guide means 36, 37 to locate the superimposed unit 4 in position. Each unit 4 is provided with connection boxes 51 for attachment to the foundation and to adjacent units, the box being secured to the unit 4 by re-inforcing rods 59, 61 and anchoring straps for details of which the Specn. and remaining drawings (not shown) should be referred to. One unit 4 is located upon another unit 4 by means of guides 52, 53 and their respective connector boxes are provided with aligned apertures 73 75 to receive bolts 76. A vertical space may be left between certain adjacent units to receive service conduits.
