Abstract
1393349 Industrial robots PYE Ltd 25 July 1973 35367/73 Headings B8B and B8H In an industrial robot comprising an extensible arm 4 pivotable about a horizontal axis 6, the arm carries a counterweight 19 which is movable to balance the arm at various extensions thereof, and an hydraulic spring exerts a turning moment opposite to that of the arm. The arm 4 comprises a body 7 and an extension piece 8 slidable therein, the counterweight 19 being carried by a cable 16 trained round pulleys 17, 18 carried by the arm and connected to a projection 15 on the extension piece 8. The hydraulic spring comprises a cylinder (31, Fig. 3), is communication with an accumulator (26) and housing a piston (22) connected by a cable (23) to a pulley (20) pivotable about the axis 6 with the arm 4. A member 11 is carried by the extension piece 8 for pivoting about an axis 13 and carries a tool holder 10 for pivoting about an axis 12.
