Abstract
1392258 Boat controls VOLVO PENTA AB 2 Feb 1973 [15 Feb 1972] 5312/73 Heading B7V [Also in Division F2] A system, common to at least two operating stations 4A, 4B enables an adjustable element such as throttle 9 or gear change 11 to be remotely controlled from any selected one of the stations. The system includes a housing 21 which accommodates a control slide 22 connected with the adjustable element and capable of being adjusted between a neutral position corresponding to a zero-setting of the arrangement and control positions determinative of the setting of the adjustable element. The housing also includes operating slides 23A, 23B each connected with a respective operating lever at each station. The operating slides are arranged adjacent the control slide for sliding movement parallel with the path of sliding movement of the control slide and are adjustable by the operating levers between a zero position corresponding to the neutral position of the control slide and operating positions corresponding to control positions. A latching and dogging mechanism 25 has latching elements 26A, 26B capable of engaging the control slide and the inner walls 42 of the housing and being arranged for movement in the operating slides. The latching elements dog the control slide with the movement of a selected operating slide and latch the or each remaining operating slide in its zero position. In the embodiment shown housing 21 of arrangement 20 (Fig. 2) is connected in Fig. 1 to throttle 9 from arrangement 20<SP>1</SP> and to gear shift 11 from arrangement 20<SP>11</SP>.
