Abstract

1391900 Pyridotriazines MORTON-NORWICH PRODUCTS Inc 1 March 1974 [6 June 1973] 9435/74 Heading C2C 1,2 - Dihydro - 3 - benzylpyrido[3,4- e -)- astriazine hydrochloride is prepared by reacting 3 - amino - 4 - hydrazinopyridine hydrochloride with phenylacetic acid, and may be oxidized to 3-benzylpyrido[3,4-e)-as-triazine with manganese dioxide. The starting material is prepared by condensing 4-chloro-3-nitropyridine with ethyl carbazate, followed by removal of the ethoxycarbonyl group and reduction of the nitro group to an amino group. The benzylpyridotriazines are antifungal agents, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
