Abstract

1391506 Mattresses PRICE BROS & CO Ltd 8 May 1973 [14 June 1972] 27791/72 Heading A4M A safety mattress comprises a main part 1 and an air-permeable part 2 which is releasably attached to the part 1 by releasable fastening means. The part 1 may have a spring interior, a composite spring and foam interior or a resilient foam body, and may be cased in conventional ticking or airimpermeable plastics material e.g. P.V.C.s or combination of these. The part 2 has through holes 3 and may be of resilient foam material, and it may be as described in Specification 967672. A removable air-permeable fabric case 4 is fitted over the part 2 and the adjacent portion of the part 1. The case 4 may be of gauze or linen. The fastening means 5 may be formed by strips of material having inter-engaging multiple miniature hooks, on the inside of the case 4 and the mating surface of the part 1. In a second embodiment, Fig.2 (not shown), the strips of material having inter-engaging multiple miniature hooks are on abutting edges of the parts 1 and 2. Alternatively, sliding clasp or press-stud fastenings may form the releasable fastening means.
