Abstract

1391372 Valve BP CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL Ltd 22 Feb 1974 [16 March 1973] 12753/73 Heading F2V In a pinch cock for controlling the flow of ensilaging liquid on a forage harvester the flow tube is constricted between a screw adjustable plate (13) in an U-shaped end of a rod 11 and the end 24 of a tunnel member 12 in which the rod slides. The rod is pivoted to an axle 2 which carries an octagonal cam 10 with alternate short and long sides and a ratchet disc (1) which co-operates with a cord operated lever 3 biased into engagement with the satchels. On pulling the lever 3 with the guided cord 8 the ratchet wheel turns the axle 2 and thus the cam 10 # of a turn to position either a short or a long side against the surface 16 on the tunnel so that the tube 22 is either constricted or released to allow flow. A coloured indicator plate 17 is pivoted at 18 to the rod 11 and co-operates with a stop 19 to indicate the condition of the valve.
