Abstract
1390892 Nuclear fuel element supports CENTRE DE RECHERCHES METALLURGIQUES CENTRUM VOOR RESEARCH IN DE METALLURGIE and CENTRE D'ETUDE DE L'ENERGIE NUCLEAIRE 11 April 1973 [13 April 1972] 17395/73 Heading G6C [Also in Division C7] A wrapper tube for sheathed nuclear fuel in a fast neutron reactor is made of an iron alloy containing by weight 8-25% Cr and up to 7% Ti. The alloy may also contain up to 6% Al, 2-7% V, 2-7% Si, up to 3% Mo, and one or more rare earth elements in an amount of up to 0À5% for each element. One or more of the oxides Al 2 O 3 , MgO, TiO 2 , and Y 2 O 3 may be dispersed in the alloy in an amount of up to 8% by volume in order to improve the mechanical properties of the material. Horizontal rods and perforated plates associated with the wrapper tubes may be made of the same alloy. Specification 1,253,006 is referred to.
