Abstract

1390630 Mowing machines MULAG FAHRZEUGWERK HEINZ WOSSNER KG 24 Nov 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 54419/72 Heading A1F A machine for mowing grass and collecting grass cuttings from roadside verges has an impact cutting rotor 1 in a housing 2 universally mounted on a movable arm of a vehicle, the housing being connected by a hose 13 to a suction fan 18 which draws material from the housing 2 and discharges it through an adjustable outlet 19. A baffle 26 may be provided for directing the matter into a container on a further vehicle. The housing 2 is supported on the ground by wheels 9 and a roller 10 and is pivotally connected by a bearing 3 to a connecting member 24. A hydraulic motor 4 pivots the housing, to adapt it to the slope of the verge. The connecting member 24 is rotatably connected by a bearing 8 to the free end of the hose 13 and can be manually rotated through 180‹ so that the machine can operate with the vehicle driven in forward or reverse. The free end of the hose is supported by a fork 12 pivoted to a bar 11 which is pivoted to a carriage 25 rotatably mounted on the vehicle so that the hose can be swung to either side of the vehicle. Hydraulic cylinders 16, 14 adjust the bar 11 and fork 12. The cutting rotor 1 is driven by a hydraulic motor 5.
